This process will assist in ensuring the project's success and reduce the chance of project failure which results in escalating costs.

A Performance Solution is a pragmatic solution that 

allows access concerns to be accommodated yet without adversely compromising the architectural integrity of the entire project.

​

The Building Code of Australia enables additional designs to be considered,  provided the alternative approach, is at least comparable to the "deemed to satisfy" requirements.


Our work in this area is collaborative with stake holders , architects and building certifiers to reach solutions provided within the building code.

Once the main elements are determined, we immediately engage with the project team to develop acceptable practical suggestions, determination of performance solutions, risk ratings, timeframes and accountability to guarantee “reasonable” execution.

Access reports are required by the principle certifying authority, building surveyors and local councils for the compliance requirements of all buildings under the Access to Premises Standards. 

 

The reports will be submitted for Development Applications, Complying Development Certificates or Construction Certificates. 

 

All design phases require a complete design assessment which results in recommended remedies, performance solutions or a ‘deemed to satisfy’ solution for the project.

There are a variety of uses for Access reports, which include:

 

1. Providing an evaluation of existing structures to produce a planned strategy in resolving accessibility issues or to help establish a Disability Action Plan


2. Reports to partner a development application or a construction certificate submission

3. Access Reports to cover legislative obligations pertaining to accessibility, outlining the aspects of accessibility concerns for each element, within a project.

Access Design Statements are required for the purposes of development application and construction certificate phases of a project.

Access Design Statements provide an effective compliance overview of the designs as specified against the accessibility acts and regulations.

 

Each element is evaluated during our review process of the project.

Recognising the costly risk of delays , we collaborate with the project team in order to obtain resolution in a reasonable timeframe.

A Disability Action Plan, is founded on the core tenets of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992,

This is a report issued by an organisation to eliminate possible barriers faced by persons with disabilities.

​

This plan defines procedure in effectively including individuals with disabilities.

 

A plan prevents the possibility for inadvertent discrimination.

​

Whilst a Disability Action Plan is voluntary, its existence will assist organisations to attain inclusiveness for everyone.
